Runners who entered the 2015 Bank of America Chicago Marathon lottery will be notified today of their selection status. This year’s field will be comprised of runners selected through the lottery as well as participants who qualified for one of five guaranteed entry opportunities. Lottery entrants will be informed of their status throughout the day via email. The world-class event will take place on Sunday, October 11, 2015.

The education of some of the UK’s most disadvantaged young people has received a boost through a donation to Ark of over £100,000 after works by some of Britain’s most influential artists went under Sotheby’s hammer last night. The auctioned pieces were donated by Bank of America Merrill Lynch from its corporate art collection and included works by British artists, David Hockney and Henry Moore.

Today the Bank of America Chicago Marathon announced that runners can enter the lottery for the 2015 event on March 10. Runners who qualify for a guaranteed entry will also be able to register at this time. The lottery system, introduced last year, resulted in a record number of finishers – 40,659 – at the 2014 Chicago Marathon. The 38th annual Chicago Marathon will take place on Sunday, October 11 in Grant Park.

The March 29, 2015 Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle will host its seventh annual Elite Club 8K Competition, featuring men’s and women’s USATF-member racing teams from across the country vying for a $20,000 prize purse.

Last year’s competition attracted more than 200 national and local elite runners from nine states and more than 40 clubs.

Special Olympics and Michelle Kwan announced today on ABC’s “Good Morning America” that registration has opened for the first-ever Special Olympics Unified Relay Across America presented by Bank of America. The classic road race is an annual tradition for Chicago area runners looking for a fun outdoor activity in the heart of the city. The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), one of the nation’s leading art and design schools, today announced it received a $1.2 million donation from Bank of America as the result of an art auction of works from the company’s own collection held last night, as well as proceeds from a separate auction with Sotheby’s. The donation will fund need-based scholarships for Chicago high school graduates to pursue their education at SAIC.

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and Bank of America Charitable Foundation announced today the 11 projects selected for the 2014 Affordable Green Neighborhoods (AGN) grant program.

Each of these neighborhood redevelopment projects are pursuing certification under USGBC’s LEED for Neighborhood Development rating system and are notable for their planned affordable housing, compact design, commitment to green building and sites located near transit or other existing amenities.

The Dallas Museum of Art today announced that they have received funding from Bank of America to restore the Wittgenstein silver display case, or vitrine, through the bank’s 2014 global Art Conservation Project. Since the program’s inception in 2010, Bank of America has provided grants to museums in 27 countries supporting 72 conservation projects.

Bank of America announced today two new initiatives as part of its ongoing efforts to help address California’s severe drought conditions, including a funding commitment to the Pacific Institute. The $250,000 grant will go toward the Institute’s drought research and response effort. The Bank of America Chicago Marathon has recognized veteran business leader Jim Jenness as the fourth annual recipient of the Richard M. Daley and Maggie Daley Award.
