Today the Bank of America Chicago Marathon announced that runner applications will be accepted for the 2016 event beginning Tuesday, March 8, by visiting chicagomarathon.com. Registration will be conducted through a system of guaranteed entry options as well as through a non-guaranteed entry drawing. The Bank of America Chicago Marathon continues to provide year-over-year growth to Chicago’s economy, with the 2014 race delivering an estimated $254 million in total business impact to the city. The findings come from the latest economic impact study reported today by Bank of America.

Runners who entered the 2015 Bank of America Chicago Marathon lottery will be notified today of their selection status. This year’s field will be comprised of runners selected through the lottery as well as participants who qualified for one of five guaranteed entry opportunities. Lottery entrants will be informed of their status throughout the day via email. The world-class event will take place on Sunday, October 11, 2015.

Today the Bank of America Chicago Marathon announced that runners can enter the lottery for the 2015 event on March 10. Runners who qualify for a guaranteed entry will also be able to register at this time. The lottery system, introduced last year, resulted in a record number of finishers – 40,659 – at the 2014 Chicago Marathon. The 38th annual Chicago Marathon will take place on Sunday, October 11 in Grant Park.

The March 29, 2015 Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle will host its seventh annual Elite Club 8K Competition, featuring men’s and women’s USATF-member racing teams from across the country vying for a $20,000 prize purse.

Last year’s competition attracted more than 200 national and local elite runners from nine states and more than 40 clubs.

Bank of America announced today that the Bank of America Chicago Marathon continues to be a key economic driver and contributes an estimated $253.49 million in total business activity to the Chicago economy, according to a new economic impact report.
