Bank of America Merrill Lynch today announced it is working alongside Graffiti Life and Tate to deliver a public arts education project in London. The project is part of the company’s unique arts and culture programme, which is designed to connect individuals, organisations and cultures to help build stronger communities through mutual respect and understanding.

The Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle 8K today announced that U.S. Olympian Lisa Uhl will lace up her racing shoes for her first competition in Chicago. Registration for the 2013 Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle 8K, the world’s largest 8-kilometer road race, closed today when the 40,000-participant capacity was reached, matching the largest field of registrants in the event’s 34-year history. Registration for the 2013 Bank of America Chicago Marathon was suspended due to technical issues on Tuesday, February 19. Since then, the event staff has been working to develop the best possible solution to offer the remaining 15,000 entries. On Tuesday, March 5, registration for the 2013 Bank of America Chicago Marathon will reopen as a lottery.

Bank of America today committed $20 million in new funding for 13 Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) to provide financing for small businesses and residents affected by Hurricane Sandy. Bank of America and Feeding America announced today that the bank will provide a two-for-one match of donations to Feeding America’s holiday “Give a Meal” program. Through this match, individuals and customers will be able to triple the impact of their donations and provide meals to people in need.  

This is the third year that the bank has partnered with Feeding America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger relief organization.

The Bank of America Charitable Foundation today announced it will donate $1 million to support relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Sandy including $500,000 to the American Red Cross Hurricanes 2012 fund.
