Gary Lynch

Gary G. Lynch is vice chairman and global general counsel for Bank of America, responsible for overseeing the company’s legal functions and its relationships with regulatory and law enforcement authorities around the world. Based in New York, he is a member of the bank’s executive management team.

Lynch is former chief of the Enforcement Division of the Securities and Exchange Commission. He joined Bank of America from Morgan Stanley, where he was vice chairman, based in London. Previously, he held senior leadership positions at Credit Suisse First Boston, including global general counsel and executive vice chairman, and is a former partner with Davis Polk & Wardwell, LLP.

Lynch was awarded the Presidential Rank Award by President Reagan; other accolades include the Americas Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Financial Law Review and the Diversity Leadership Award from the Asian American Bar Association of New York.

Lynch is a member of the board of trustees of the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the board of directors of The Legal Aid Society and the Bingham Development Board of the Bingham Centre for the Rule of Law.
