"Kenny’s talent for cultivating leaders like Nikki and recognizing the need to bring additional resources to the market have and will continue to play a critical role in our success in Austin and across the region."

Bank of America today announced that Nikki Salzillo has been named market president for Austin, TX.

As market president, Salzillo will serve as the company’s enterprise leader in Austin. She will work across the region to help deliver a wide range of global financial services to individuals and businesses locally, as well as deepen relationships with existing customers. She will also oversee corporate social responsibility activities including philanthropic giving, community development lending and investing, environmental initiatives, diversity efforts, arts and culture projects, and employee volunteerism.

“Nikki’s breadth of experience at the company as well as her work in the Austin community for the past nine years will benefit our customers and our nonprofit partners as she takes on this important leadership role,” said Bank of America Chief Executive Officer Brian Moynihan. “As Austin market president, she will continue to leverage our local resources and talented team to support client needs and help address critical needs within the community.”

In addition to her market president role, Salzillo is on the Bank of America Charitable Foundation team where she is responsible for overseeing several national philanthropy programs.  She has been with the company since 1994, holding a variety of leadership roles.  Prior to her current position, she served as the market manager for Austin and San Antonio.

Salzillo succeeds Kenny Wilson, who will continue in his role as San Antonio market president and market executive for U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management in San Antonio and Austin.  Wilson and Salzillo will work closely to provide unified Bank of America leadership across Central/South Texas.

“Austin is a key market for Bank of America,” said Moynihan.  “Kenny’s talent for cultivating leaders like Nikki and recognizing the need to bring additional resources to the market have and will continue to play a critical role in our success in Austin and across the region.”

“Nikki has proven her commitment to the Austin market, and I look forward to working with her and the leadership team as we continue to serve our clients, teammates and nonprofit partners,” said Wilson.

In the community, Salzillo serves on the boards of Communities in Schools of Central Texas and the Austin Community Design and Development Center, and is an affiliate member of Leadership Austin. In 2010 she was recognized as the Austin Association of Fundraising Professionals Outstanding Community Affairs Executive of the Year.

Salzillo is a graduate of Auburn University with a B.A. in Political Science and is a graduate of St. Mary's Hall in San Antonio. In 2011, she received her certification in Community Involvement from Boston College.

Last year, Bank of America employees in Austin volunteered nearly 4,000 hours to local nonprofits and continue to play a major role in philanthropic initiatives, including United Way and Habitat for Humanity. More than $900,000 in philanthropic giving in 2012 helped nonprofit community organizations develop and grow, including those that are addressing the critical needs of housing, hunger and jobs.
