The Bank of America Chicago Marathon announced today that a strong field of American runners will join previously announced superstars Galen Rupp and Jordan Hasay at the front of the field in Grant Park on October 13. Bank of America today announced the expansion of its environmental operations efforts to include the installation of solar panels across multiple locations through its Onsite Solar Initiative. The addition of solar power at financial centers, ATMs, office locations and other operational buildings will reduce energy costs for the bank and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Last month, Bank of America announced that it would raise its minimum hourly wage to $20 over a two-year period. The first increment to $17 was made on May 1, and is reflected in impacted employees’ paychecks this week. The Bank of America Chicago Marathon today announced that more than 11,000 runners raised an event record $22.7 million through the 2018 Chicago Marathon Charity Program. Since the program was officially established in 2002, more than 128,000 runners have raised over $207 million for local, national and global causes.
