Bank of America and Vital Voices Host 20th Global Ambassadors Program in Paris

November 7, 2019 at 9:00 AM Eastern

Bank of America, in partnership with Vital Voices, will bring together women leaders from around the world for the Global Ambassadors Program in Paris November 11th-15th. During this weeklong initiative, the program will highlight the role of women as drivers of economic growth and explore the ongoing needs and challenges that many women leaders face.

The Paris Global Ambassadors Program will pair a diverse group of women leaders from small businesses and social enterprises across Europe (mentees) with 11 Global Ambassadors (mentors), established women executives from a range of sectors and organizations, including Bank of America. The program includes a week of one-on-one mentoring and strategic planning workshops that help build organizational management, financial acumen and leadership skills.

“Women are a force for driving economic, political and social change,” said Anne Finucane, vice chairman, Bank of America. “Through mentoring, training and access to capital, women entrepreneurs have the power to build their businesses, invest in their local economies, advance their communities and, in many cases, pursue social change.”

Since the program’s launch in 2012, 19 successful Global Ambassadors Programs have been held in Haiti, South Africa, India, Singapore, Brazil, Qatar, Mexico, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Poland, Japan, the United Kingdom, Australia, and the United States and Puerto Rico. The program has impacted more than 350 women from 85 countries – helping mentees grow their businesses and organizations through more than 6,500 hours of training and mentorship.

“The past eight years of partnership with Bank of America has catalyzed a new generation of women leaders empowered to make sustainable change,” said Alyse Nelson, president and CEO of Vital Voices “But the real impact we see lies not just in how one woman builds her business, but in the way she pays forward the investment made in her to others, so everyone can thrive. I can’t wait to meet the Paris cohort and watch their progress.”

In conjunction with the Paris program, Bank of America will host a global forum on November 14, featuring distinguished leaders and entrepreneurs who will discuss the importance of women’s role in driving economic and social progress. Finucane will be joined by other global leaders to discuss contemporary issues that women entrepreneurs face, and celebrate the success and ingenuity of those who are leading the way.
