Len Botkin is the interim Chief Audit Executive of Bank of America and a member of the company’s executive management team, reporting directly to the Audit Committee of the company’s Board of Directors and its Chair and CEO. In this role, Botkin oversees the global Corporate Audit and Credit Review organization with corresponding responsibilities across all the company’s business strategies, business segments, technology, operations, risk and compliance efforts, and financial management.
Prior to this role, Botkin served as Bank of America’s Enterprise Initiatives & Strategic Priorities executive, responsible for providing critical enterprise-wide services that support the company’s lines of business and clients. This included oversight of major enterprise policies including Business Continuity, Data Management, Change Management and Complaints, with accountability for supporting the development of strategies, capabilities, policies/standards, governance, and oversight programs across all front-line units.
Botkin has held senior leadership roles for the company throughout his tenure, including more than seven years in the Chief Financial Officer organization and its Chief Accounting Office. This included serving as the CFO for Staff Support functions including Corporate Audit, Finance, Legal, Risk and others, and responsibility for Finance Operations, Corporate Accounts Payable, and the bank’s transition to a new general ledger platform.
He has also managed major functions within the Chief Administrative Office, Global Technology & Operations, Consumer Banking, and Quality & Productivity.
Botkin serves as a member of the company’s Management Committee and its Global Diversity and Inclusion Council. He has also been an executive sponsor of Bank of America’s Military Support & Assistance Group (MSAG) employee network, and continues to be an active advocate, volunteer, and mentor to the group. Botkin is active in the Charlotte community, serving on the board of directors for the Catawba Lands Conservancy and previously, on the board of directors for the Mint Museum of Art.
He holds an MBA with concentrations in finance and operations management from MIT’s Sloan School of Management and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
